In this video, I walk you through the simplest way to create a local development environment for Drupal - the Acquia Drupal Stack. First, I tout the benefits of the stack, then take you through the process of installing and uninstalling the stack, both on a Mac and PC.

Can you easily create a single site from a multisite site

This is an excellent tutorial. I have been using MAMP and XAMPP for some time now and I appreciate the simplicity of easily standing up a new Drupal site.

How easy is it to take a site created within a multisite configuration (like under the Acquia solution) and implement it for a customer as a single non-multisite web site?

I can imagine renaming a few folders and having to deal with SQL connection permissions, but is there a best practice? What else would need to get done to pull that off? Edit .HTTPD files or .HTACCESS files or something else?
